The Self Care Promise is an idea I've been promoting for years turned into a purposeful movement. My goal is to educate about the mental health aspects of practicing self-care, and help make self-care accessible to everyone through donations.

WHY SELF CARE?

I've been involved with the Miss America Opportunity for the past six years. When anyone asks me why I keep participating, my answer is the same.

I love how much time and effort I put into taking care of myself when I compete. In fact, I've found it to have extremely positive effects on my mental and physical wellbeing.

I want to share that self-care can look a variety of ways, but is essential for everyone.

Practice self-care!

It sounds simple, but it can be easy to overlook ourselves when life gets hectic. Take the time to go for a walk, call a friend, or doing something that makes you smile. Self-care can look different to everyone. Even taking the time to have a shower or brushing your teeth are acts of self-care.
